Kate Wadey
Kate, one of Sydney’s favourite jazz singers, has melted hearts everywhere she sings. Vocalist Kate Wadey’s has gained national recognition for her sweet, sure, and rich voice that exudes effortless charm and sophistication. With wonderful Jazz undertones, and without fuss or bravado, she navigates the emotions and melody with equal skill, providing strength of character in each song.
Kate regularly performs and records with the cream of Australia’s current crop of jazz musicians and composers including the likes of Geoff Bull, Bob Henderson, George Washingmachine, Andrew Dickeson, Dan Barnett, Matthew McMahon, Craig Scott, Chris O’Dea, Zoe Hauptman and Harry Sutherland. Wadey is the leader of her own bands and has performed at Manly Jazz, Wangaratta Jazz and Blues Festival, Sydney Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival and Womadelaide to name a few. Kate also spends her working time collaborating with classical/contemporary composers and musicians such as Ben Ward, Chris Pidcock and Van-Anh Nguyen.
